How do I export flashcards to Anki?

About a minute. You only need Anki installed.

  1. 01Open My decks and press Export on the deck you want. The same button sits next to Done in the deck editor.
  2. 02Pick Anki deck (.apkg) and press Download. Your browser builds the file, so nothing waits on a server.
  3. 03Double-click the file, or use File > Import in Anki. Leave "Import any learning progress" ticked to keep your review dates.
  4. 04Study in Anki. Export the same deck again after editing it and Anki updates the cards it already has instead of adding copies.

Do my review dates move to Anki?

Yes, for flashcards. A card due in 12 days here is due in 12 days in Anki, and Anki's FSRS scheduler gets the same memory numbers ours used. Concept cards, quiz and interview questions arrive as new cards, because the app doesn't schedule them.

What do printed cards look like?

Like these. Each card takes the colour of its study mode, with the question on top and the answer under a fold line. Print on one side, cut along the dashes, fold, and test yourself.

What comes along, and what stays?

Everything you can read on a card. Interactive parts stay in the app.

  • Flashcards, question and answer.
  • Concept cards: the term on the front, and the plain-English meaning, analogy and example on the back.
  • Quiz questions with every option, the right answer and why it's right.
  • Interview questions with the key points a good answer covers.
  • Step-by-step diagrams stay in the app. They're made to tap through, so they have no card form.
  • Only decks you made. Ready-made subjects and decks a teacher shared with you stay in StudyVisually.

Is exporting free?

Yes, on every plan, Free included. A deck made on a paid plan that turned study-only after a move to Free can still be exported.
