Learn a language: words that stay, a few minutes a day

One new word today. I'll remind you tomorrow.
How do I learn vocabulary that sticks?
Four steps for any language, including right-to-left ones like Arabic.
- 01Pick words you'll really useStart with greetings, numbers and the words from your course or your life, not a frequency list you'll never finish.
- 02Make cards, or bring your listType cards in the flashcard maker, or paste a list from Anki, Quizlet or a spreadsheet (up to 200 cards a deck).
- 03Review a little every daySpaced repetition shows each word again just before you'd forget it, so daily reviews stay short.
- 04Say full sentencesUse the words out loud in Interview mode, and pick what to say in everyday situations in Quiz.
Which study modes help?
Flashcards carry vocabulary; the other modes put it to use.
- FlashcardsWords and phrases come back on a spaced schedule, both ways round if you make two cards.
- Quiz, also called predict the answerSituations like ordering food: pick what you would say.
- InterviewSay a full answer out loud before checking it.
When will a new word come back?
Pick how each review goes. The calendar shows the gaps the app's scheduler sets.
The share of cards you should still remember when they come back. The app uses 90%.
After review 6, the card comes back in 1 year: 2 years after you first studied it.

Questions people ask
Short answers. The full FAQ covers plans, payments and your data.
Can I bring my Anki or Quizlet vocabulary?
Yes. Export the deck or set as plain text or CSV, then paste it or open the file in the flashcard maker. It finds the separator itself, shows how many cards it found, and lists any lines it couldn't read. Each line becomes a flashcard you can review on the same schedule.
Does it work for Arabic and other right-to-left languages?
Yes. Cards, questions and answers set their direction from the text itself, so Arabic reads right to left while an English translation on the next line reads left to right. An Arabic font loads only when Arabic text appears, so other pages stay fast.
How many new words should I add a day?
Only as many as you can review tomorrow. Every new card adds reviews over the next few weeks, so a big day now means long sessions later. Start small, keep a daily streak, and add more once your daily reviews feel short.
Will flashcards help me speak?
They give you the words quickly, which speaking needs. Then use them: answer questions out loud in Interview mode, and work through everyday situations in Quiz. Saying full sentences, not just single words, is what moves vocabulary from recognising it to using it.
